Castillo’s first haircut
This photo came to me when I returned to Dominic & Vincent’s Barber shop after a long absence. I strolled into the shop at the age of twenty to be greeted by Dominic with a smile and heavy Italian accent. “We haven’t seen you in awhile.” As I sat in the same chair as in the photo, Dominic said “I have something for you.” He retreated to the back room, returning with a shoe box containing hundreds of photos of children getting their first haircuts. Dominic thumbed through the smiling and occasionally tearing faces of his young customers to pause on this photo of me. “Here you go, how do you want your cut today”.
