The Producers Workshop

In this intensive 1 day course, students are provided with all the skills and knowledge needed to produce a project from start to finish. Under the guidance of two producers with a combined 20 years of experience in commercial production, students will learn the art of producing in today’s new media world.

Summary Outline:

• Starting from scratch: the bidding process; negotiating techniques; creating the estimate, and winning the job.


• Creating a professional product: examine and breakdown a commercial script; create a full budget; determine scheduling; Above the Line and Below the Line needs; talent needs; unions; crew needs.; dealing with client needs.


• The technical aspects: cameras; lights; audio.


• Post-production considerations: the editor; after effects; music; and the final delivery.

This course is designed for students who want to be able to start their careers as producers right away, as each student will walk out the door with the confidence to produce any type of project.

This IFP sponsored course is taught by production company professionals. Tuition $500. All major credit cards accepted.
